Next week on Jamie’s BBC Radio 2 show – a Count Basie track from the BBC Archive

Next week’s show features a live session track hand-picked from the BBC archives. Previous archive sessions have included performances by Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk and the John Surman Octet.

After a huge email response to the Jazz Ship archive featuring Cannonball Adderley, Jamie has returned to the same show and selected a performance by Count Basie And His Orchestra.

Jamie goes global with his BBC Radio 2 show

After the fabulous news just a few days ago that Jamie’s BBC Radio 2 show was hitting Canada. We have had more great news, with the announcement that his show will be broadcast in France on TSF Jazz, starting on Sunday 9th October at 11am.

Congratulations to Folded Wing and BBC Radio 2 on such brilliant news.

Jamie’s quest for world domination is well under way. I wonder which country will be next to pick up his show?

Jamie to join Jazz FM line-up with his BBC Radio2 show

I’ve just heard some great news that Jamie is to join Canada’s Jazz FM line-up with his BBC radio 2 show debuting this weekend. Tune in this am to Jazz FM for more information!

Coming up next week on Jamie’s BBC Radio 2 show – a 1975 session from The Cannonball Adderley Quintet

Next week Jamie will be revisiting the archives once again.

This time a gem he recently discovered in the BBC Archives: The Cannonball Adderley Quintet performing Autumn Leaves on Jazz Ship.

The session takes place on board a moving ship and the music is affected by the swell of the ocean, creating an impact on the performance and provoking an entertaining introduction by Cannonball Adderley.
