Nobody likes to read a really long bio about anyone right? So here is a short introduction to the talented Mr Cullum.
Jamie is a talented musician who plays Piano, but also isn’t to shaby at playing the drums and the guitar. Think of an instrument and I am sure Jamie would be able to play it without too much trouble.
Whilst not being able to read sheet music, Jamie has had BIG success in the music industry, having released 6 albums, Heard It All Before (a self funded project). If anyone has one you are very lucky!!, Pointless Nostalgic, Twentysomething, Catching Tales, The Pursuit and his most recent album Momentum. And whilst his latest album Momentum was only released last year, Jamie already plans to release 2 more albums this year (2014).
Jamie was nominated for a BRIT award in 2004 (British Breakthrough Act), Best Male Artist & Best Live Act in 2005. As well as being nominated for a Grammy he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for Gran Torino which he wrote for the film Gran Torino, directed by Clint Eastwood.
Jamie has gone on to win numerous awards, Best Jazz Format for his BBC Radio 2 show from New York Festivals in 2012 and 2013.
You can tune in to hear Jamie’s BBC Radio 2 show every Tuesday from 7pm.
The Eighty-Eight is one of Jamie’s most recent projects, a fascinating magazine which contains essays, short stories and much more. Take a look for yourself
Jamie can currently be found touring the world promoting his new album Momentum.
