“The Artist, The Craftsman And The Instrument”
Following his visit, Jamie has created a series of four videos, where he explores the creation of Yamaha Pianos. He takes a look at the materials and methods used in selecting, designing and shaping the wood that makes Yamaha Pianos, and the unique passion of the craftspeople for their trade.
Here is what Jamie had to say about his visit:
“The visit to the Yamaha factories made me appreciate that the people who produce these instruments for the artist are artists themselves. I’m sure there aren’t many pianists who really appreciate the intensity of the processes involved in building a grand piano from raw materials and bringing it to the stage or shop. I’m delighted that the videos depict this with such beauty and passion.”
Take a look at the four video series below.
