Next week, Irish born jazz singer-songwriter Christine Tobin talks about her introduction to jazz and her current musical project which is based around the poetry of W.B Yeats.

In an open interview, Christine explains how picking up the album Mingus by Joni Mitchell introduced her into the world of jazz. She reflects on how her musical career has developed since, from successfully re-imagining Carole King’s Tapestry album to putting music to W.B Beats poems.

    Jamie presents a special show recorded backstage at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival. He plays highlights from across BBC Radio 2's live music output from the weekend, including live tracks from Georgie Fame, Madeleine Peyroux and Laura Mvula. Jamie also plays music from his favourite artists performing at the festival such as Ravi Coltrane, Sons Of Kemet and Marius Neset and catches up with a couple of them backstage.
