Cheltenham Jazz Festival welcomes Jamie Cullum – via This is Gloucester

When Jamie Cullum comes to Cheltenham for the Jazz Festival this week, it’ll feel a bit like a homecoming.

Although he isn’t from the town – he was brought up in Wiltshire – he would religiously make the journey to the festival every year to check out the jazz musicians who came to be such an influence on him.

“I’d come with my brother and it was really amazing for me that I didn’t have to go to London to see some great live jazz.

“It wasn’t just the big names. The festival has always been well run by some really good people and you’re just as likely to find great music in one of the small venues as on the main stage.”
