A Tribute To Abram Wilson

Tomorrow on Jamie’s BBC Radio 2 show, Jamie will be paying tribute to jazz trumpeter Abram Wilson who sadly passed away earlier this month.

You may recall that Abram was on Jamie’s BBC Radio 2 show back in December 2011, Jamie also interviewed him recently at The Cheltenham Jazz Festival in May 2012.

      it was so sad ti hear of Abraham’s sudden death,
      not only was he a wonderful musician, but he also
      did a great deal for students of music, I feel very
      privileged to have happy memories :I saw Abraham at
      a gig and it was a beautiful night …I look forward
      to Jamie honouring this gentle person & brilliant musician as only
      Jamie could !!!! thank you Jamie

Jamie also plays music from his favourite artists performing at the festival such as Ravi Coltrane, Sons Of Kemet and Marius Neset and catches up with a couple of them backstage.
