Hosted by Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton, Must Be The Music offers authentic acts and performers a national platform to showcase their talents. Encouraging originality and real artistry, Sky 1 HD’s contest is open to all musicians of any age and genre, from solo acts and vocalists to groups and instrumentalists. An outspoken panel of judges, including Mercury Music Prize winner and chart-topping rap artist Dizzee Rascal, jazz-pop sensation Jamie Cullum and singer-songwriter Sharleen Spiteri will be delivering their verdicts. The triumvirate will audition thousands of hopefuls, before 15 selected contestants go head-to-head in three spectacular studio-based semi-finals.
From each semi-final two acts will go forward to the final, which will be filmed live at Wembley Arena where they will perform in front of 10,000 people and share the stage with Dizzee, Jamie and Sharleen, who will also be performing. The viewing public in the UK and the Republic of Ireland will vote for the winner, who will receive £100,000, plus creative and promotional support to help kick-start their career.
